How do I convert a gauge?

- Your gauge: 22 stitches ร 30 rows = 10 x 10 cm stockinette
Find the conversion factor in 2 simple steps by:
Step 1: Divide your gauge by the patternโs gauge
- Stitches: 22 รท 20 = 1.1
- Rows: 30 รท 28 = 1.07
Step 2: Multiply the patternโs stitch or row counts by these factors.

Step 1. Divide the measurement by 10 to find how many 10 cm sections it contains:
- 110 cm รท 10 = 11 sections of 10 cm
Step 2. Multiply the number of sections by your desired stitch count to find the total number of stitches needed:
- 11 sections ร 22 stitches = 242 stitches
What if measurements aren’t given?
If the pattern doesnโt list certain measurements, you can calculate them from the stitch counts.
Formula: (stitches รท pattern gauge) ร 10 = measurement in cm
